Quincy is a very special boy with a sad story. He and his brother Lonny were adopted as kittens from Stray Cat Blues. They had a very happy life for several years (they are now 5) and then very suddenly the woman who adopted them passed away.
When the boys realized something was different in their home, they took to hiding in the basement ceiling rafters, making it nearly impossible to find them. Over a two-week period, Stray Cat Blues managed to trap them. They then went into foster care to adjust to their new lives.
This change was hard for Quincy and Lonny because they did not understand why they had lost their home or where their human best friend had gone. In the first few weeks in foster care, they mourned. They hid and went for days without eating or using the litter box. All their foster mom could do was wait and love them through it. They slowly emerged and began to accept this new phase of their lives. Lonny is now thriving. He has become happy and confident again. Quincy however, has had a very difficult time accepting the loss.
Quincy is now living at our Whiskers Way Station, getting all the love we can possibly give him. He is a very sensitive boy who craves a quiet life and a close one on one relationship with his person. As you can see in his video, he responds to our socializers with such warm affection when they have quiet time alone with him. When Quincy is content, he will drool and rub his ears with his paw. To see him reach this point is so heartwarming. We have done as much as we can to rehabilitate him emotionally. Now, he is ready for that next and final step in his healing process. Quincy desperately needs the love, comfort and security that only his own home and person can provide. He would prefer to be an only cat or go home with his brother.
Are you that special person who can give Quincy a happy ending?
