Carl’s Peaceful Goodbye

** Update We want to thank everyone who made it possible for Carl to have Laps of Love come to his home. On March 11, 2025, Carl passed peacefully, surrounded by love and the comfort of his foster parents. His foster mom expressed her deep gratitude, saying she couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful passing for him.

Rest easy, sweet Carl. You were loved.

Carl is a cat who knew love. He had a person—his person—and they were madly in love. Through every joy, every holiday, and even the hardest days, Carl was there, a constant companion. And when his person fell ill, Carl never left her side.

But then, she was gone. And instead of being comforted in his grief, Carl was thrown out of the only home he ever knew. The family sold the house and left him behind, as if he didn’t matter. At 15 years old (76 in human years), Carl was suddenly homeless, confused, and struggling to survive.

He didn’t know where to find food, where to sleep, or how to stay safe.

A kind soul saw Carl in his suffering and called Stray Cat Blues for help. One of our amazing trappers rushed to his rescue, bringing him to a veterinarian who confirmed a sad truth—Carl was too old and too fragile to be adopted. But we refused to let his story end there.

Carl has spent his last months in a loving foster home, receiving the care and dignity he was denied when he was abandoned. But now, Carl is letting us know it's time. He has stopped eating, and his foster mom can see he is ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge.

We want Carl’s final moments to be filled with love, warmth, and peace. We are raising funds to bring Lap of Love to his foster home, so he can pass in comfort, surrounded by kindness. This is the least we can do for a cat who gave his heart so completely, only to have it broken.

Any donation, big or small, will help us give Carl the farewell he deserves. Thank you for caring about Carl and showing him that his life mattered.
