Lansdale, PA — December 30, 2023 – Stray Cat Blues, Inc. has received a $40,000 grant from PetSmart Charities® to help prepare more cats and kittens primarily in Montgomery, Bucks and other suburban Philadelphia counties for adoption. Some four million pets find themselves in U.S. shelters each year. In partnership with PetSmart Charities, Stray Cat Blues, Inc. will bring adoptable pets to 2 PetSmart locations (North Wales & Collegeville) in support of National Adoption Week, taking place March 18 - 24, 2024.

“The $40,000 we received in December 2023 will be used for veterinary care, primarily spay/neuter, sick adoptable cats/kittens. It’s also to be used for medicine (eyedrops, dewormers, etc.) microchips and anything else for the care of adoptable cats.” say Jerry Kalick, President of Stray Cat Blues Board of directors.

“Shelters across the U.S. are struggling to keep pace with the number of animals coming in and need support from their communities to bring pets and people together,” said Heidi Marston, director of pet placement at PetSmart Charities. “We’re proud to support Stray Cat Blues, Inc. and the essential work they do to care and advocate for the animals that come through their door in need of loving families. Please consider supporting their lifesaving work through volunteering, fostering, adopting, or by making a donation.”

PetSmart stores feature adoptable pets to meet and cuddle in spacious areas, and staff and volunteers are on-hand to make introductions and answer questions.
