Volunteer of the Month: Amy Beal

Join us in congratulating volunteer Amy Beal for being named as our Volunteer of the Month for May 2024.

Amy Beal's journey with Stray Cat Blues began with a heart-wrenching loss that ultimately led to an incredible story of perseverance and compassion. It all started when her own beloved cat, Joe, escaped out of his carrier while at a veterinary appointment. Determined to find him, Amy embarked on a relentless search, refusing to give up hope even in the face of adversity.

Her quest for Joe led her to Stray Cat Blues, where she discovered the trapping team. With sheer determination driving her forward, Amy dedicated herself to learning the art of trapping, fueled by the unwavering love for her lost companion. After five long months of tireless searching, Amy's perseverance finally paid off—she found and was able to trap Joe.

Amy's love and dedication extends far beyond Joe. Every lost or feral cat she encounters receives the same level of care and compassion. She puts her heart and soul into each rescue, ensuring that every cat she encounters feels valued and loved. It's not just about saving lives for Amy; it's about giving these precious cats a chance at a better future.

Amy's unwavering determination is the stuff of legend, transcending mere mortal limitations. Whispers abound of her daring rescues, where she executes ninja-like maneuvers to pluck kittens from the jaws of peril. Yet, her mission doesn't halt at the edge of danger; it propels her into realms few dare to tread. Picture her, amidst the chaos of forgotten barns, where hay bales form mountains and fleas dance in the shadows. Undeterred, she forges ahead, her spirit undiminished by the challenges that would deter others. Her quest knows no boundaries, transcending the confines of conventional rescue efforts. Each abandoned barn becomes a battleground, each trapping site a proving ground for her unwavering commitment. In the face of adversity, she stands resolute, a beacon of hope for every feline soul in need. Amy's dedication is not just a testament to her compassion; it's a testament to the boundless potential of the human spirit to enact change, one life at a time.

Her compassion extends far beyond trapping. Amy provides countless feral cats with a safe haven, offering them warmth, shelter, and the medical care they so desperately need. Her garage is a sanctuary, a well-organized triage station, a testament to her selflessness and dedication to the community cats.

In addition to being one of our trapping coordinators, Amy is always there to answer calls for assistance, to tend to sick ferals in need, and to support her fellow trappers with unwavering positivity. Her tireless efforts strengthen the fabric of Stray Cat Blues, providing resources and support to all who seek help.

Amy's actions embody the spirit and mission of Stray Cat Blues, and her contributions are a significant factor in the success and resilience of our organization. Her ability to juggle multiple roles while providing exceptional care and support is nothing short of miraculous.

Please join us in celebrating Amy Beal as our Volunteer of the Month. We are immensely grateful for her passion, her empathy, and her relentless dedication to every cat that comes her way. Amy, thank you for everything you do—you are a true hero in the hearts of many, and especially in the eyes of the kitties you’ve saved!
