Volunteer of the Month: Marie Beltz
For the month of January, we are thrilled to honor the incredible dedication and compassion of Marie Beltz as Stray Cat Blues’ Volunteer of the Month! Marie has been a cornerstone of our organization, and her unwavering commitment to the cats and our mission has made an unforgettable impact.
Marie is a familiar and cherished presence at PetSmart every weekend, showing up ready to make a difference no matter how she’s feeling! Her husband, Don, often drives her now, highlighting the amazing teamwork and support they share for the mission of Stray Cat Blues. Behind the scenes, Don plays a vital role, handling all the computer work and keeping things running smoothly. Together, they are an unstoppable team!
Over the years, Marie has opened her home to countless cats, embodying boundless compassion in everything she does. A lifelong advocate for cats, Marie has even transformed her garage into a sanctuary for fostering and socializing cats who need extra care and attention. She truly believes that no cat is unsocializable—they only need more time, love, and patience.
Her heart of gold shines in every aspect of her work with Stray Cat Blues. Marie is always gracious and kind with adopters, answering questions, providing support, and even stepping in to take back a cat when necessary. Her ability to connect with people and make them feel at ease is one of her many gifts.
She’s also an integral part of Stray Cat Blues’s phone team, a role she has held—and often led—since the organization began. On top of that, she diligently approves adoption applications, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully reviewed.
Marie’s selflessness, humor, kindness, and positive energy make her an absolute joy to work with. Whether she’s taking on new challenges, tirelessly advocating for our cats, or navigating new computer systems, she approaches everything with positivity, grace and a smile. She truly embodies the spirit of Stray Cat Blues, never uttering a negative word and always lifting up those around her.
Marie, your dedication has made a profound difference—not just to the cats whose lives you’ve saved but to the entire Stray Cat Blues community. We are endlessly grateful for everything you do and are so proud to honor you as Volunteer of the Month. Congratulations!
