Volunteer of the Month: Randee Halvorsen
The Stray Cat Blues Volunteer of the Month for December is none other than Randee Halvorsen!
We are absolutely thrilled to honor Randee this month for her incredible dedication and contributions. Randee has been a vital part of Stray Cat Blues for the past four years, and since joining, she has been a driving force behind our mission to support stray and abandoned cats in Montgomery and surrounding counties. Her compassion, commitment, and expertise have made a lasting impact on countless cats and kittens.
Randee’s contributions truly go above and beyond. She began her journey with us as a foster, but her background in nursing made her an invaluable resource and a natural fit to become a Foster Home Coordinator. She has guided and trained many of our current fosters, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to care for their kittens. Her medical expertise has also made her a key member of our Emergency Medical Response Team, where she assists fosters through urgent situations to ensure their kitties receive the best care possible.
An avid trapper, Randee has helped many community members with Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) efforts, reducing the overpopulation of cats in our area. She also serves on our medication distribution team, devoting countless hours to ensuring all the cats in our care have what they need to thrive. On top of all that, Randee specializes in bottle baby kittens—an incredibly challenging and crucial role that few are equipped to handle.
Randee is always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, consistently going above and beyond for everyone in our rescue. Her dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts inspire us all.

Randee, you are a beacon of hope and kindness for so many, and we are endlessly grateful for all that you do.
