From Skeleton to Snuggler! 😻

It's Donor Match December 2024, and we are fortunate to have anonymous donors pledging to match all donations to Stray Cat Blues Inc., dollar for dollar, up to $40,000 from now until December 31, 2024.

When we first saw Tigger, it was such a disturbing sight. He was literally a skeleton with a fur coat! He tentatively approached a house in East Greenville begging for help. Stray Cat Blues responded and immediately got him the care he so desperately needed.

Tigger was severely malnourished and dehydrated - barely able to walk.  His fur was matted, his eyes were crusty and he was drooling. A visit to the vet revealed that he suffered from hyperthyroidism and hypertension.  He only weighed six pounds. The vet said that a healthy cat his size should weigh closer to 15 pounds! Additionally, his wobbly gait was being caused by arthritis. To say he was in very bad shape is a huge understatement.

Tigger’s now getting treatment for his hypertension, hyperthyroidism and arthritis. His recovery will be a long process, but we’re happy to report that he is responding well. He's comfortable in his foster home, where he lives happily with children, a cat, and a dog. Tigger’s favorite pastime now is to curl up on the couch or a lap, especially by the warmth of the fireplace. No more cold nights searching for food and shelter for this sweet senior fella!

Without the intervention of Stray Cat Blues, it’s doubtful that Tigger would have survived the winter. His suffering is now behind him, and hopefully when he is fully rehabilitated a safe loving home awaits him.
