🐾 Stevie's Miracle: From Darkness to Light
A woman in Norristown had 4 female cats which she let outside. No surprise, all 4 became pregnant and gave birth to 22 kittens all around the same time! The kittens ended up with various degrees of upper respiratory and eye infections. Four of the kittens were given away before Stray Cat Blues became involved. The 18 remaining kittens were split up among three different foster homes.
Stevie Wonder was one of the sickest, he could not see at all. He had severe opaque white ulcers covering both eyes. We took him to see an ophthalmologist; the prognosis was optimistic. It would require some intensive care. Over the course of 4 weeks Stevie was medicated 6 times a day including oral and eye drop antibiotics and antivirals. His eyes improved very slowly every day until his vision eventually returned. Thanks to the amazing care he received, Stevie’s left eye is pretty much perfect, and while his right eye has a little extra “third eyelid” stuck, that’s just cosmetic, it doesn’t slow him down one bit.
We’re proud to say that 100% of every donation goes directly to caring for cats in need, from those just beginning their journeys to those facing long roads to recovery. With your help, we can continue to rescue, treat, and give second chances to cats like Stevie. This year, please consider donating to help us save more lives, provide more second chances, and ensure no kitten has to face the cold alone.
Together, we can turn their suffering into joy, their fear into comfort, and their loneliness into love.
