Never Abandoned, Always Adopted! 🐾❤️
When Whisper was a kitten in 2021, she was adopted out by Stray Cat Blues to what we thought would be her forever home. Then in March of 2023, she was trapped by one of our rescue partners, the Cat Collaborative, in a colony in Northeast Philly. They scanned her for a microchip and realized she was an Stray Cat Blues cat!
The Cat Collaborative and Stray Cat Blues contacted the original adopter. She did not want Whisper back, and in fact stated that she had given her to a friend. We wasted no time; Whisper needed our help! One of our volunteers drove into Philadelphia to go pick her up; Another agreed to foster her. Whisper had suffered tremendous mental stress from her time on the streets. It took her months in foster care before she would feel safe enough to come out of her shell.
In early November a potential adopter came to the foster mom’s home to meet Whisper. Poor Whisper hid under the bed the whole time. The adopter couldn't really see or touch her. We assumed that since Whisper didn't show well, she would end up in foster care for a while longer. But then the next day, this woman called to say that she was so compelled and moved by Whisper’s story that she wanted to adopt her and would wait patiently for Whisper to trust her.
Once in her new home, it only took two days for Whisper to come out and enjoy her new loving people. Whisper finally found her true forever family! These are pictures of her now. It melts our heart to see her so happy.
