🎁 Donor Match December: Who's Helping Brucie? 🐾

It's Donor Match December 2024, and we are fortunate to have anonymous donors pledging to match all donations to Stray Cat Blues Inc., dollar for dollar, up to $40,000 from now until December 31, 2024.
Brucie was a stray picked up by the Stray Cat Blues trappers back in April 2023. He clearly went through some tough times before he came into Stray Cat Blues care. When he was neutered, the veterinarian discovered Brucie had been shot twice. They were able to remove one, but he still carries a BB gun pellet in his rear right leg. It was also found that Brucie is an FIV+ cat which means he may have compromised immunity.
Understandably, Brucie had a fear of humans but was surprisingly non aggressive. As he recovered from his surgeries, Brucie adjusted to indoor life. He came to learn that his caregivers meant him no harm, and in fact were the source of food and affection. He still needed more socialization if he were to find a forever home; so eventually Brucie was placed in the Stray Cat Blues socialization center, Whiskers Way Station.
While at Whiskers Way Station, Brucie quickly became a favorite of the volunteers. At first, he seemed so unhappy that it became our mission to make Brucie smile! We spent endless hours petting, brushing and talking to him. We might not have been able to make him smile (he just has a grumpy face), but he sure was happier. He would purr and make endless biscuits in the air. He absolutely thrived with all of the attention he was receiving! At one point, we noticed his appetite was off and he didn’t seem himself. The vet discovered dental disease and extracted some bad teeth. One more thing for poor Brucie to overcome!
Brucie’s journey has taken over a year of dedicated medical care and gentle socialization to prepare him for his happy ending. He is now ready to find his forever home. Thanks to your support, Stray Cat Blues could be his voice, providing him the much-needed medical care and a chance for a brighter future. Brucie’s story, like so many others, is made possible because of you!
